Backup to a flash USB drive

June 11th, 2006 · No Comments

Backup using your flash USB drive to achieve both convenience and security at a time.

Why backup to flash USB drive?

As flash USB drives are very convenient to use, you can use them to backup your data files (usually small in size) to move files between computers and secure them. You can use a large USB flash drive as a backup medium for several computers too.

What to backup?

As flash USB drives are fairly limited in size (up to 4Gb at the time of the writing), you can only backup your important files: work documents, data files, mail messages, Outlook and Outlook Express files, recent photos, etc)

How to backup?

You can backup to a flash USB drive using compression, encryption and also a backup scheduler. Using backup compression increases the amount of files you can backup greatly, especially if backing up text files. Using backup scheduling helps you to do something instead of conducting the backup manually.
