Can you sleep well without backup?

September 22nd, 2006 · 1 Comment

Sure, you may think that you don’t need to have a second copy of your files. Noone will steal your computer, external hard disk, a flash drive or there won’t be a fire (or flood) in the house or office. Right.

Sure, but there may be other things, such as:
- you edit your important file and save it (and later you understand that you edited it incorrectly)
- you erase your file by accident
- someone (or you) overwrites a file with another
- you do backups manually but you copy files in an opposite direction once (thus losing some part or all of your work)
- you lose your flash USB drive or it gets stolen with your purse/wallet
- your hard disk drive crashes (making file recovery even more problematic)
- someone deletes some of your files to free up space (yes, that ‘mywork.doc’ file sure was looking like an unimportant temporary file)

Still sleeping well without a backup copy?

Take your time to choose the right backup medium for your files, set up a backup schedule and sleep well.
